A Quick Christmas Eve Note (And a Reminder to Step Away)
Normally we keep this channel very trading-focused. But it’s Christmas Eve, the market’s closed for a couple days, and it felt like the right time to just say: thank you.
This year was a big one on my end. I left a job I’d been at for almost 10 years and took the leap to build StatsEdgeTrading full-time. The goal was simple: bring systematic trading to normal humans in a way that actually fits real life. Clear rules, real backtests, and a process you can repeat without being glued to the screen.
And you guys showed up in a way I honestly didn’t expect. The growth, the support, the messages, the people sharing their progress, all of it has been unreal. I’m grateful for it.
Market-wise, it was a wild ride. The beginning wasn’t fun. The middle gave us some great stretches. The end got choppy again. But the thing I’m most proud of isn’t any single trade. It’s being able to stay consistent through different environments, keep the business moving forward, and spend more time with my family without feeling like I had to stare at charts 10 hours a day.
That’s the whole point of being systematic. It’s not “no losses.” It’s having a plan you can execute when the tape is messy and your emotions are loud. Quant beats vibes, but only if you actually follow the rules.
We’ll get into the hard numbers and performance breakdowns once the year fully wraps and the data’s finalized. For now, I’ll just say this: I’ve got big plans for next year. Partnerships, new instruments, new strategies, and more ways to make the process even easier to follow.
If you want to be more systematic in the new year, everything lives at www.statsedgetrading.com. You’ll find the free courses, the newsletter, and StatsEdge Pro if you want the full rules-based trade ideas delivered with structure.
For today, do the thing that actually matters: get away from the screens. Enjoy your people. Rest the brain. The market will be right here when we’re back.

Merry Christmas Michael! Wishing you all the success in the world.
