What I want now
Smoothness. Fewer red months, shallower drawdowns, and an equity curve I can hold through without flinching.
You can always juice returns. Add leverage, double the drawdown, double the number. That is a real option and it is available to anyone.
It is just not what I want at this stage. More account, more responsibilities, more grey hair.
The bottleneck was me
We ran three systems on weekly setups. Not because three was optimal, but because weekly setups consume all the buying power at once, and there was no room for a fourth.
Running it daily would have fixed that. It also meant hours of manual work every night, after the school run, after supper, after bedtime. Some nights that does not happen.
So the constraint was never the strategies. It was one person.
What changed
The repetitive parts, running the data, building the report, checking the output, now happen automatically overnight. Not thinking for me. Nobody is asking a machine to invent a strategy.
Buying power cycles daily, which means eleven uncorrelated systems instead of three.
The system I keep even though it loses money
There is a VIX system in there. On its own equity curve, you would never trade it.
But its spikes line up with 2000, 2008, and 2020. It makes a little when everything else is falling apart, which softens the drawdown and frees capital to redeploy on the recovery.
That is what a portfolio component is for. It only makes sense next to the others.
The dates
Beta opens Monday. If you are on the free list, one real trade idea from the book lands in your inbox every night, starting next week. Costs you nothing.
The first live sheet ships Monday, September 7. Trading starts the 8th, and the portfolio resets to zero that morning, so day one is day one. Sign up before the 8th and your book matches mine from the first trade.
My own account is already there.
