Rubrik reported Wednesday night. Revenue up 38%, guidance raised, the whole nine yards. Thursday it ripped 11% to a new high.

Friday it opened down anyway. Clawed all the way back above Thursday’s close, touched 107.37. Then closed at 93.05. The low of the day.

The shape

Opens lower. Takes back yesterday’s close, so the recovery was real. Fails all of it and closes on the low. Inside an uptrend.

That last part matters. The same bar in a downtrend is just a downtrend.

Does it mean anything?

I ran it. 233 big names, every daily bar since 1981. 1,017 signals.

It bounces, harder than chance. And in case that is just the market being the market: 1,000 portfolios buying the same names the same number of times on random dates.

Zero beat it.

The exact rule, the entry, the hold, and why stops make this trade worse, not better, are below. Fair warning: I have not taken this one myself.
